June 5 ... See His Power

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus,

has freed me from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:2

If the flesh wins over the spirit

in our hearts and minds,

our life decreases in vitality,

for the Spirit gives us life.

If the flesh wins over the spirit

and, in temptation, is drawn away,

the evil desire conceived in our minds

gives birth to sin,

which brings forth death.

But we have power over the flesh

and over our sinful nature.

For the offering for sin that Jesus made

deprives that flesh of power.

So as the spirit wins over the flesh

in our hearts and minds,

freedom from sin and death result

and we walk in newness of life!
