June 20 ... Release Your Will

You shall be clean from all your uncleanness
and from all your idols I will cleanse you.
Ezekiel 36:25

An idol is something
that stands between you and Almighty God,
something that sits enthroned in His place.

An idol is something
you can't let go of,
something that you continue to do,
when He has told you no.

If we obey our own desires
to the disregard of His,
then we become an idol unto ourselves,
and those areas we hold so dear
are the idols we've set up.

Lord, we desire to love and obey
with whole and holy hearts.

Tear down those things that we've allowed
to come and take Your place.

We want You there as King and Lord,
as Ruler in our lives.

We give up all our own desires,
releasing all our selfish ways,
to make You Master over all,
submitting only to Your will!
