September 9 ... Take Joy In True Riches

Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his elevation
as called to the true riches as heir of God.
James 1:9

We see the verse that promises
if we humble ourselves
we'll be lifted up.
We take it to mean in a humanly sense,
a place of power,
with great audience.

But what the Lord Jesus is speaking of here
is a raising to great joy in Him,
and who are the happy ones He has described?
It's back to the meek and the humble again.

The cycle is clear and we're not to break out,
the heart of a servant is highest.
When we see this state as the ultimate,
we'll not be seeking and searching about
for that higher position He has.

For it is His favor that we're to desire,
His mercy and grace and His strength,
His lifting us up and out of ourselves
into that heavenly place;
into a life dedicated to Him
and to humbly serving our King!
