He wakens me morning by morning,

as those who are taught.

In the physical
we can open and close our eyes
but our ears are always open.
We can hear the voices round about us,
unless there's been some damage to the inner ear.
In the spiritual
we can open and close our ears
but our eyes are always open.
We can see and discern with understanding,
unless the wiles of the enemy
have blinded our eyes.
Jesus promised we would know His voice,
but we must listen.
Many teachings He has given,
but we must have an ear to hear.
His desire is to lead us,
but we must waken to His voice.
If we close our ears from His way,
and follow our own path,
we cannon complain to Him
"You never hear my cry!"
For He has heard, but you don't know it.
He has seen the way you're going.
He has tried to show the pathway,
but your ears are closed...
