We're to present ourselves
as a living sacrifice to God.
We're not to present others
as a sacrifice.
We're not to sacrifice someone else
to preserve ourselves.
Or build up one person
by sacrificing another.
O God, purify our hearts and motives;
purge those attitudes
of self-preservation and prejudice.
Give us Your love,
Your unconditional, forgiving love.
And may it cover our own short-comings
and those we see in others.
Unite our hearts under Your one banner,
as we devote our lives
to glorify Your Name together!
