For whoever would preserve his life and save it,
will lose it;

We're to die to self,
to put down our old ways,
to rise with Him in newness of life.
What happens if someone comes back to life
when they had not completely died?
They re-enter the earthly realm,
not rising to the heavenly.
They come back with flesh still alive.
Lord, I desire complete death
to all self and selfishness,
so that the resurrection
will be into heavenly places with you;
not a re-entering into the earthly.
Do the work that must be done
to bring Your life in place of mine.
Cause that death to my old man,
that I may live
alive in You!
