January 1... Come, Rise Up

Come, Rise up in a Morning Watch!
     To commune with Him~
            receiving His garment of light,
            singing for joy,
            entering that chamber of love,
coming into the flow of His presence.

Come, Rise up in a Morning Watch!
     To crucify the flesh~
            ignoring its desires,
            disregarding its pull,
causing it to suffer and diminish,
being on guard for the enemy's wiles,
dying to self and the old man,
taking the cross to follow Him.

Come, Rise up in a Morning Watch!
     To new creation in Jesus~
            and resurrection life,
            walking in His victory,
            living in His light,
            letting His recreating power flow.

Come, Rise up in a Morning Watch!
     To intercede in prayer~
            for strength and obedience,
            for salvation and repentance,
            for prepared hearts and guidance,
for the day and for the future.

The call comes to the heart,
The crush comes on the soul,
The cry comes from the spirit.
We come to You, Lord Jesus!
