October 17 ... Trust His Mercy

As one whom his mother comforts,
so will I comfort you;
you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 66:13

Not only are they blind,
they persecute those
who know the Truth.

Not only are they deceived,
they lead astray those
who seek to know the Way.

Oh, open their eyes,
that they may turn from the darkness
unto the Light.

Open their hearts
to understand that You bring forgiveness
and release from their sins.

Open their minds
to know the deception
the enemy has them locked into.

Open their lives
to Your provision
and to Your comforting hand.

October 16 ... Expect His Salvation

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting!
And let all the people say, Amen! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!
Psalm 106:48

It's true, O God.
Their watchmen are blind.
They know not that Jesus,
their longed-for Messiah
has already come!

They don't understand that
He offers them joy
and life everlasting.

They cry out in anguish,
with sorrowful hearts,
wailing without satisfaction.

But oh the glorious day will come,
when heaven and earth
are created again;
when old things of life
we'll remember no more,
but gladness and joy
in the city of God
will come and remain
forever and ever!
Amen!

Isaiah 56:10; 65:9, 13-14, 17-19; 66:22; Psalm 106:48

October 15 ... Request His Restoration

Turn us to Yourself, O Lord and we shall be turned
and restored. Renew our days as of old.
Lamentations 5:21

His people are His portion,
and yet they know Him not.

They are kept as the apple of His eye,
and yet they see Him not.

He spreads His wings to take them in,
yet they do not come to Him.

O Father, continue to draw them,
continue to search
for Your scattered sheep;
turn them to Yourself.

Restore them to repentance
and relationship with You
and with Your only Son.

Deuteronomy 32:9-11; Luke 13:34; Ezekiel 34:6, 11; Lamentations 5:21

October 14 ... Lift Up His People

How often I have longed to gather your children together,
as a hen gather her chicks under her wings,
but you refused.
Matthew 23:37

He would have us intercede
for His chosen people.
As He wept for Jerusalem,
desiring their salvation,
so shall we weep
for the salvation
of those blessed ones.
They've been so deceived,
so blinded, so deaf,
they see not the Truth,
they know not their Messiah.

And He would have us intercede
for His chosen people,
the children of God
who know Him as Messiah
but not as Lord and King.
They've been deceived,
desiring to serve two masters.
They know not the Truth,
or they know,
but choose not to obey.

O Holy Spirit ~ Pray through us
for the revelation of Truth
to Your people.

O hear, you deaf. O look, you blind,
that you may see
the glory of your God.

Psalm 122:6; Matthew 23:37; Isaiah 42:1, 6, 7, 18; Matthew 6:24

October 13 ... Reveal Truth

And we know that the son of God has come
and has given us understanding,
so that we may know Him Who is True.
I John 5:20

As we bask in His love,
as we soak in His presence,
we see His heart,
His breaking heart.

We see His heart breaking
for those who are turning,
turning away from His love,
away from His presence,
away from His breaking heart.

We cry for their wholeness,
for their understanding,
for blinders removed,
and truth to break through.

We cry for the death
of deception and lies,
for bright revelation,
for darkness exposed.

We cry for their hearts
  to break,
  to soften,
to turn
to His loving heart.

October 12 ... Pray His Heart

Why do you sleep?
Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation.
Luke 22:46

When He calls you into prayer
to come before His throne,
do not worry what to say.
He has given you His spirit
and it's through You He will pray.

We're to come to Him as vessels.
He's the Potter, we're the clay.
Come to Him as little children,
yielded to His will and way.

He will use you in His Kingdom,
for it's those with humble hearts,
truly broken for His purpose,
that He calls as instruments.

Rise as a warrior, a priest set apart.
Come as He calls you;
lift people to God.

October 11 ... Hear His Call

Pray at all times -  on every occasion, in every season - in the Spirit,
with all manner of prayer and entreaty.
To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and much perseverance,
interceding in behalf of the saints.
Ephesians 6:18

God is looking down from heaven.
Are there some who understand?
Are there some who see His face,
some who call upon His Name?

Will any turn from idols,
turn from their own way,
breaking up their fallow ground,
in contrition kneel and pray?

Are there some who intercede,
giving up their day?

Are there some who see the need?
Are there some who will obey?

October 10 ... Glory In His Presence

Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, extent to the skies,
and Your faithfulness to the clouds.
Psalm 36:5

The majesty of the pines,
the freshness of the breeze,
the harmony of worship
from the voices around,

The clouds drifting by,
the ripple of the stream,
the blessing of your lambs
learning Your Word,

Cause me to glory in You,
feeling Your presence,
seeing Your greatness.

With tears of gratefulness
I bless You!

I Chronicles 16:33-36; Psalm 133:1; 36:5-8; John 21:15; Psalm 114:6-7; 145:9-12, 21

October 9 ... Shine His Light

I have come as a light into the world,
so that whoever believes on Me
may not continue to live in the darkness.
John 12:46

So many people are lost in sin,
knowing not the way.

So many people are blind to the truth,
seeing not they can be saved.

So many people are headed for death,
feeling hopeless, discouraged and dark.

I desire to be used of You
to lighten up the Way.

I want You to shine through me
and point them to the Truth.

I want my life to reflect Yours,
that Hope might be revealed.

I'll not be ashamed of spreading Your Word,
for it is the power that saves!

October 8 ... Spread His Life

To love the Lord your God, to obey His voice,
and to cling to Him; for He is your life!
Deuteronomy 30:20

You are my life!

The joy of my life.
The purpose of my life.
The security of my life.

You are my life!

How can others reject You?
How blind can they be?
How hurting and lost...

You are my life!

May I share You.
May my words reveal You.
May my life show to all
that
You are my life!

October 7 ... Know The Intercessor

But the Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor,
Advocate, Strengthener, Standby,
the Holy Spirit,
Whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things.
John 14:26

Have you ever thought of the sacrifice
the Holy Spirit made?
To leave the glory of His home
and the earth pervade,
coming to the hearts of men
joining with our spirits,
coming to prepare a bride
for the Groom, Christ Jesus.

What a Comforter He is,
and our Intercessor.
The Giver of gifts He is today,
and He is our Teacher.
He's our Guide and our Power,
and He's so much more.

Fill us with Your Spirit, Lord,
with His peace and joy.
May we come with hearts rejoicing
for Your plan fulfilled!

October 6 ... Be His Light

Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

O Lord of the harvest,
send me forth to the field.
But 'til that day comes,
may I shine on this hill.

May the people I walk with,
the people I see,
come to the cross
as they see You in me.

May the people I live with
know it the best,
for You are my strength,
You are my rest.

Shine forth to them,
from my life and my love,
as I spend time with Jesus,
my Source from above.

Luke 10:2-3; Matthew 5:14-16; Galatians 6:10, 14; II Corinthians 13:11; Philippians 2:15-16

October 5 ... Appropriate His Power

Sanctify yourselves,
for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.
Joshua 3:5

When I awake and read Your Word
about the enemies of the Lord;
of David's battles,
the Israelites' foes,
the disciples' troubles,
the Christian's woes,

I see the same promises
coming to me
which comforted them
with their enemy.

And I thank You, Lord Jesus,
that You are the same:
Old Testament, New Testament
and still today!

May we take the power He's promised to us and fight the enemy of our souls!

October 4 ... Come Be Covered

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1

We need a covering
in this day of battle.

We have it!

As part of our salvation,
as part of abiding in Him:

We have the helmet.
We have His wings.
He is the cleft of the rock.

We have His hand.
His mighty arm.
We have His banner of love.

As the pillar of cloud
covered the tabernacle,
so cover Your people,
the temple of your Spirit.

October 3 ... Meet The Master

For they cried to God in the battle,
and He granted their entreaty because they relied on,
clung to, and trusted in Him.
I Chronicles 5:20

Come, My remnant.
Give ear.
Rise up!
Listen to the trumpet call!

There's much to do.
There's much to be.
But first, you must abide in Me.

Your faith must be strong.
Your heart without fear.

Come!
Rise up!
The battle is near!

We have a responsibility to rise each morn and listen to what the Lord God would speak to us for the day. He has the master plan and will show us what to say and how to pray.

October 2 ... Enter His Presence

And he Who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit,
because the Spirit intercedes for the saints
in accordance with God's will.
Romans 8:27

Close in Your shield around me
as I enter Your throne room.
Block off my own thoughts and ideas.

I desire to have Your burden, O Lord,
for You are the Holy One
Who establishes the earth.

Intercede through my words,
create what You've purposed
as I speak Your will.

Yielded, I bow before You;
use me in any way You desire.

I am Yours, and I delight
in obeying Your promptings
as You lead and guide,
taking every thought captive
to Your will.

Your promises are true,
and I trust in Your faithfulness
to keep each and every one.

Psalm 5:12; Proverbs 30:3-5; Romans 8:27; II Corinthians 10:5, 7; Exodus 24:3; Psalm 33:4

October 1 ... Come, Cry Out To God Almighty

Come and cry ~
                             cry out in adoration,
                             cry out in repentance,
                             cry out in expectation,
                             cry out in intercession!

For He is worthy to be adored ~
                             waiting for our worship,
                             longing for His dear ones
to come to Him in fellowship.

And He is worthy of our repentance ~
                             as a Holy God
                             Who has provided the remission
for the sins we cling to.

Oh, as we turn and follow Him,
                             He's worthy of our expectation,
                             for His very presence recreates
and brings such life and hope.

And as our hearts are changed,
we see that He's the answer,
                             and we cry in supplication
                             to the Mighty Intercessor:

    "Save The Dying Ones!"

THE CALL TO CRY IN INTERCESSION

October, November, December

The Call To Cry In Intercession

September 30 ... Be Filled To Overflowing

May the God of your hope so fill you
with all joy and peace in believing
that by the power of the Holy Spirit
you may abound and be overflowing,
bubbling over with hope.
Romans 15:13

The introspection is good
but we must go on.
We must look outside ourselves
to the hurting ones.

We must see we're called to preach
of the glory of the Son.
Not sitting waiting for the Lord
but sharing - then the end will come.

The looking inward to our hearts
is the right basis for a start.
But we must go on, we must see,
we are sent forth to share His joy and peace.

Give us boldness, O Lord Jesus.
Fill us through and through.
May we walk as You have called us,
testifying of the Truth.

Take all fear and apprehension.
Lead us forth to share of You!

Deuteronomy 6:5-7; Matthew 24:14; 23:26; John 20:21; Acts 4:30-31; Romans 15:13;
John 15:26-27; Acts 5:32; Isaiah 52:6-7

September 29 ... Expect Great Things

He who believes in Me will also do the works that I do;
and greater works than these will he do
because I go to the Father.
John 14:12

He is calling us to do
greater things than He has done,
                            greater exploits in His Name,
as we believe and trust in Him.

It's His power within us
working through us as we trust,
working out what He has planned,
as we're vessels in His hand.

When we spend time with Jesus,
                            His power will be seen;
                            the boldness and the miracles
will be proof of where we've been.

For He's promised to work through us,
as we do what pleases Him,
even as He pleased the Father,
                            walking in that perfect plan.

We will love, we will obey,
                            hearing His thoughts,
                            speaking His words,
                            and as He has called,
                            doing His works!

September 28 ... Rejoice In His Arm

O sing unto the Lord a new song,
for He has done marvelous things!
His right hand and His holy arm
have gotten Him the victory.
Psalm 98:1

It moves my heart to silence
when I think of what He's done.
Welcomed us unto Himself
with His open arms,
that arm of strength which scatters pride,
that arm of lovingkindness.

The arm of flesh He's conquered by
the work He did upon the cross.
His outstretched arm delivers us;
it brings the victory.
It's in His mighty arm we trust
for "Nothing is too hard for Thee"!

We fall silent in Your presence
as we meditate on You.
We are awestruck by Your power
and the loving things You do.
Our hearts are filled with joyful praise,
our thoughts on You alone.
We glory in Your mighty strength
and in Your holy arm!

Luke 15:18-24; 1:50-51; Exodus 6:6; Isaiah 51:5; Jeremiah 32:17; Psalm 77:10-12; Psalm 98:1

September 27 ... Let The Spirit Rule

If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
If by the Spirit we have our life,
let us go forward walking in line,
our conduct controlled by the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25

As we die to the flesh,
and the old man in us,
create a clean heart to be filled by You.

We ask that the fruit
of the pure Holy Spirit
be made manifest in our hearts through You.

May His love, His joy and gladness
overrule all hate and sadness.
May His patience and His peace
take the place of anxious worry.
May His kind and gentle goodness
replace all self-centeredness.
May the steady walk of faith
overtake our questioning ways.

We desire self control in all of the above,
living and walking in the Spirit
by the grace of God!

Ephesians 4:30-32; I Corinthians 9:24-27; Galatians 5:25

September 26 ... Speak Forth Life

The lips of the righteous feed and guide many.
The mouth of the righteous brings forth
skillful and godly wisdom.
Proverbs 10:21, 31

Purify my tongue, O Lord,
keep a watch on what I say.
I'll not be a hypocrite,
speaking forth self-righteously.

May I always speak out life,
never speak destructively.
May I think and kindly speak,
not bursting forth impulsively.

May gossip never be a part
of my heart and mind.
May I take heed and guard my tongue,
sinning not in what I say,
taking Your silent example,
trusting in Your perfect way.

May my conversation be
a sign of your pure life in me.
May I be so filled with You,
self control comes naturally.

And may praise and joyful singing
come forth from me constantly!

Psalm 37:30-31; Proverbs 10:11, 19-21, 31; Psalm 51:14

September 25 ... Manifest Jesus

Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord;
Let your lives be constant proofs
of what is most acceptable to Him.
Ephesians 5:10

As we die to self,
the character of God can shine forth.

As we grow in Him,
the qualities of His own Son
will be manifest.

His nature will be made known,
His thoughts and ways and will.

As we stop our striving,
our selfishness and pride,
His law will be written
in our hearts and minds.
And others will see
that our ways are His,
the obvious will be
His mind and not ours!

Oh, praise You for Your re-creation!

I Peter 2:21-22; II Peter 1:4-8; Ephesians 5:10-11; Hebrews 10:16; Philippians 2:5; Ephesians 4:24

September 24 ... Grow In Grace

But grow in grace and in the knowledge
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
II Peter 3:18

The Spirit of holiness,
combined with grace,
will bring about
the obedience of faith,
as we walk with Jesus.

And as we walk with others,
we impart into their lives
encouragement to grow in Him,
in holiness and grace,
as they walk with Jesus.

For His grace flows to and through us,
not as license unto sin,
but as a gift that causes us
to stand righteous in Him,
and we grow in Jesus.

For it's by His grace we're saved,
and by His grace we grow!

September 23 ... Live For Others

Let us do good to all men,
and especially to those who are
of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:10

It's my desire to be used
as an instrument of You,
showing love and kindness to
those who have no other.

I would like my life to be
one that brings a joy and peace
to the Christian family,
and to unbelievers.

Take all dross that still remains.
Purge it out, remove all stain.
I would rather have the pain
than bring it upon others.

Lead me in this path, O Lord,
living for the other's good,
walking in light of Your Word,
for Your glory, and none other.

This is my heart.
This is Your will.
It's sure to be accomplished!

September 22 ... Let Love Cover

Above all things
have intense and unfailing love for one another.
I Peter 4:8

As we, a husband or a wife,
become one with the other,
may we be examples of
God's love for the brethren.

May we put each other first,
laying down our lives,
supporting them in what they do,
our own way to sacrifice.

Never taking up offense
or holding tight onto a grudge.
Not leaving room for satan's tricks,
by holding onto bitterness.

But, always being peacemakers,
letting nothing separate,
making love that covering,
with hearts of full forgiveness.

May we be one,
as the Father and Son,
convincing the world
and revealing God's plan!
